"Well, well, well... this is wonderful. No one told me it was like this!"So said Georgia O'Keeffe upon arriving in New Mexico. If we're lucky, we use all five senses when we travel... see, hear, taste, touch, breathe.
But the sixth sense is alive and well in Northern New Mexico. Feel it and be enchanted. Come see for yourself, like Georgia did, why O'Keeffe Country is so much better in person. What do you want to do today? |
O'Keeffe Country is most commonly known as the region in Northern New Mexico that encompasses Santa Fe, north to Abiquiu, through Ghost Ranch and up to Taos.
Georgia O'Keeffe held residence in all of these places at one time during her life, documenting them in her unmistakable, artistic style through drawings, pastels, paintings, and photographs.
She is arguably the most famous person to fall in love with this terrain, but she isn't the only one to claim this place as home. We think everyone who visits has dreams of some type of spiritual ownership. This is simply the magic of the land.
There are so many amazing people, places, and things to discover in Northern New Mexico.

Georgia O'Keeffe's Home at 4018 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM
Georgia O'Keeffe's last home is currently for sale. Take a look at this magnificent compound in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she spent the final years of her life.
"During the last few years of her life, O'Keeffe was unable to come to Ghost Ranch from Abiquiu. Eventually, she moved to Santa Fe where she died in her 99th year, reclusive to the end. 'I find people very difficult,' she once said. The Santa Fe home she lived in from 1984 - 1986 (when she died) is called the Sol y Sombra Estate, located at 4018 Old Santa Fe Trail, and was subsequently owned by Microsoft founder Paul Allen."
