If you are looking for a comprehensive retrospective of Georgia O'Keeffe's greatest artworks, you will be sorely disappointed. If, however, you want to view several samples of her portfolio in an intimate gallery setting... and be transformed by the quiet elegance of seeing her brushstrokes up close and personal... then we highly recommend the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
With only 5,000 square feet of space, come mentally prepared for small surroundings, yet a grand experience. You won't find her iconic works here - please don't ask where the "poppy paintings" are - but you will see the breathtaking landscapes, skulls, cottonwoods, and abstracts that so clearly defined her later years living in Northern New Mexico. The Museum is open every day, from 10 AM - 5 PM, and until 7 PM on Friday evenings. Regular admission is $12. The Museum is located three blocks northwest of the Plaza, at 217 Johnson Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Discover more of Georgia O'Keeffe in New Mexico by clicking on LEARN. |
