O'Keeffe Country Blog

An Homage to Georgia O'Keeffe

We were contacted by Michael O'Brien, a photographer in Hawaii, about our blog series on O'Keeffe in Hawaii. He offered to send us some photographs of his gorgeous Lotus flowers to use. But what really piqued our interest was a new series he created... one that honors O'Keeffe's surreal landscapes of bones and skulls floating in the sky with her favorite flowers. Can you imagine what they would look like if they were real? Thank you Michael! We LOVE them!

For more information on Michael, and to see the entire Georgia O'Keeffe series, please visit: jpgmag.com/people/Onggi.  And you can purchase his latest book here: www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/1780465.

Michael, your pictures are thought-provoking! Outstanding! Guess what? Will and I became friends when we were 19 years old. We were introduced by Woody, one of Will's high school classmates, who was dating me at college. Woody and I married in 1962; Woody died in 1987. Will and I taught together at Plato High School our first year. He is a dear friend like a brother to me. I treasure his friendship. Would love to meet you and your wife someday.
